Ambassador Marc J. Sievers

Abu Dhabi–based business consultant and policy commentator with deep expertise in national security, Gulf Arab relations, Egypt, Iraq, and Israel.

Ambassador Marc J. Sievers served as the inaugural director of AJC Abu Dhabi — the Sidney Lerner Center for Arab-Jewish Understanding — where he was a leading advocate for the deepening and expansion of the Abraham Accords. His work at AJC Abu Dhabi positioned him at the center of one of the most transformative diplomatic developments of the modern Middle East.

A career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service with 30+ years of experience, Ambassador Sievers served as U.S. Ambassador to Oman from 2016 to 2019. Prior to his ambassadorship, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d'Affaires in Cairo during Egypt's post-Arab Spring transition, Political Minister-Counselor in Baghdad, and Counselor for Political Affairs in Tel Aviv — making him one of the State Department's foremost regional hands.

Today he brings that unmatched firsthand expertise to business consulting, policy analysis, media commentary, and public discourse — advising clients and audiences on U.S.–Middle East relations, Gulf security, and the evolving Abraham Accords framework.
